Inside Wireman Contract Survey!

The Inside Wireman contract negotiations are coming up. Please take the time to submit a survey. 

Membership participation is crucial to establishing and maintaining a strong Union.

Responses are anonymous, there is no email tracking, but please take the survey seriously. 

There are 23 open Calls for Friday, August 15th:

Inside Wireman Calls:
  • 7 JW CST – Unfilled long calls for work at the EWD Data Center. Working (4) 10s & (2) 8s. OSHA 10 or 30, background check, drug screen, and Iowa electrical license required. Report Tuesday, August 19th at 8AM.
  • 8 JW Tri-City Electric – Unfilled long calls for work at the QTS Data Center. Working 6:30-3PM with possible OT. Currently working (5) 10s & an 8. Report Monday, August 18th at 7AM.
  • 4 JW ACME Electric – Unfilled long calls for industrial work in the area. Report ASAP.
  • 2 JW ESCO Electric – Unfilled long calls for industrial work in the area. Background check is required. Report the next day at 8AM.
  • 1 JW Nelson Electric – Unfilled long call working in the area for a couple weeks until work begins at the EWD data center. OSHA 10 or 30, background check, drug screen, and Iowa electrical license required. Report the next day at 7AM.
  • 1 JW Nelson Electric – Unfilled long call for service truck work. Paying Foreman scale. Drivers license and Iowa electrical license are required. Report the next day at 7AM.

Hawkeye pulled their last Journeyman call for work in Iowa City.

Residential Wireman Calls:

  • There are no residential calls.

VDV Technician Calls:

  • There are no VDV calls.

Special Election House District 78

Iowa Representative Sami Scheetz has assumed a role on the Linn County Board of Supervisors. Sami has been an advocate for Labor in the House and should do great things as a Supervisor.

However, this leaves his seat in House District 78 on the SE side of Cedar Rapids open. A special election is scheduled for April 29th. Polls open at 7AM and close at 8PM.
